Questions
How do I save a recipe from Instagram, TikTok or YouTube?
- Open the post, Reel or video with the recipe.
- Tap Share, then choose Saucepan. Don't see it? Scroll to the end of the app row, tap More, and turn on Saucepan.
- Saucepan reads the caption (and, for videos, the on-screen text and narration) and saves the recipe. Give it a quick look before you cook.
The same works for Pinterest, Facebook, Safari and most recipe websites. You can also copy a link and paste it in Saucepan, save from a screenshot, or scan a cookbook page or handwritten card with the camera.
Recipes you save from other people are for your own cooking. Please don't publish them as your own (see the Community Guidelines).
Do timers ring if my phone is on silent?
Yes. Cook Mode timers ring like an alarm, even on silent, and you can follow them from the Lock Screen, Dynamic Island, Apple Watch and CarPlay. Allow notifications for Saucepan when asked, so a timer can ring while the app is in the background. You can check this in Settings → Notifications → Saucepan.
Can I trust the allergy and diet flags?
Use them as a helpful guide, not a guarantee. Saucepan flags ingredients that match the allergies and diets you set, and suggests swaps, but it can miss hidden ingredients and can't see what's inside packaged foods. Always read labels and check every ingredient yourself, especially when cooking for someone with a serious allergy.
How do I join a shared collection or household (Cook Together)?
Open the invite link someone sent you. If Saucepan is installed, it opens in the app and asks you to join. If it opens in the browser instead, tap Open in Saucepan, or install the app first and open the link again. Invites can be turned off or reset by the person who sent them.
I subscribed but Saucepan+ isn't working.
Open Saucepan, go to the Saucepan+ screen, and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe. If you use Family Sharing, check that subscription sharing is turned on for your family group.
How do I cancel Saucepan+ or get a refund?
Saucepan+ is billed by Apple. To cancel, open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions → Saucepan+ → Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date. You keep Saucepan+ until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel your subscription.
Apple handles all refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my account?
- In Saucepan, open Settings and tap Delete Account.
- Read what will be deleted, then tap Delete Account Permanently.
This permanently deletes your account and everything stored on our servers: your synced library, published recipes, posts, comments, likes, follows and photos. It can't be undone. Recipes saved only on your device stay there until you delete them or the app. Remember to cancel Saucepan+ separately.
Can't open the app? Email us from the address linked to your account and we'll delete it for you.
Do I need an account?
No. Saucepan works without one, and your recipes stay on your device. Sign in only if you want sync across devices, Cook Together, or community features like publishing and following.
Is my data private?
Without an account, everything stays on your device. If you sign in, your library syncs so it's on all your devices, and only you can see your private recipes. We don't show ads and don't sell your data. The Privacy Policy has the details, including when recipe text is sent to a cloud AI service to read it.
